12 Legit Online Jobs that Pay Daily, Instantly, or in a Few Days

Need money fast? These legitimate online jobs pay daily, instantly, or within a few days.

Before we jump in, a caveat: Most online gig work, including some of the companies listed here, pays on the lower end of the spectrum.

Update March 7, 2024: I’m looking for part-time overflow help with academic interview transcription starting in April. Must be based in Canada or the US, have work references, flexible availability (including weekends), and be very responsive to emails. Must be able to turn around 90 minutes of 2-3 speaker audio in three days. Email chloe [at] opaltranscriptionservices.com with your experience and availability (please also add my email to your approved senders). IMPORTANT: Please paste your resume into the body of your email instead of sending it as an attachment or I will not be able to read it. More info: https://www.mondayroadmap.com/transcription-jobs/

However, that doesn’t mean you can’t earn a real living working from home: There are many online jobs that pay well. Top companies post higher paying remote work opportunities daily – you just have to know where to find them. A couple of my favorite places to look for online jobs that pay well are LinkedIn Job Search and FlexJobs.

LinkedIn is completely free; you just need a LinkedIn account. Businesses pay a fee to advertise jobs on LinkedIn, which usually means the company is committed to hiring right away. At any given time, there’s usually a good selection of remote jobs on LinkedIn. You can set up job alerts so you get a notification every time a new online job is posted that matches your desired criteria.

With the above tips in mind, here’s my list of online jobs that pay daily, instantly, or within a few days! All of these are free jobs (you should never pay for a job online), and most of the companies in this post hire beginners with no experience.

Transcription sites that pay daily, instantly, or every few days

Transcriptionists listen to audio and type what they hear – for example, for the benefit of deaf and hard of hearing people. Because new digital content is being produced every moment, there are plenty of legitimate opportunities to work as a transcriptionist from home, and many transcription companies are open to hiring beginners with no experience. However, keep in mind that entry-level typing jobs usually pay the lowest.

If you’re interested in earning professional rates as a transcriptionist, see my post about how to become a transcriptionist. I also spent hours putting together this mega list of online transcription jobs, so make sure to check that out if you’re interested in getting work online.

Here are some transcription jobs that pay daily, most of them via PayPal.

Crowdsurf

Apply Here

Crowdsurf hires transcribers internationally to work on short audio and video files. They pay instantly for completed tasks. You can choose to receive payment via direct deposit, PayPal, and more. According to a 2019 Glassdoor review, “Working from the platform pays a few cents more than working from Amazon Mechanical Turk.”

Rewards apps and paid surveys

Cashback and rewards apps are used by market research companies to collect consumer data, which in turn helps companies improve their products and services.

There are a variety of ways you can earn money with cashback apps, including:

  • Taking online surveys
  • Participating in focus groups
  • Shopping online
  • Browsing the Internet
  • Playing games
  • Watching videos
  • Downloading suggested apps
  • Referring your friends

Most cashback and rewards apps also give you special deals from online retailers.

Rewards apps don’t pay a lot, but they can help you save or earn a few bucks every month passively by doing things you already do, such as surfing the web or playing games on your mobile phone.

Below, I’ve included two legitimate paid survey and cashback programs. They let you cash out as soon as you reach the minimum payment threshold.

InboxDollars ($5 signup bonus)

InboxDollars is one of the most popular cashback apps, especially for people who like to play games on their cell phone. In addition to their large selection of games, they offer a variety of other ways to earn redeemable points and get paid, including watching videos (these are ads paid for by companies), taking surveys, browsing the web, shopping online, and downloading recommended apps.

The minimum cashout threshold is $30. You can choose whether to redeem your points as PayPal cash, a check, or an Amazon gift card.

Survey Junkie

Survey Junkie is arguably the most popular app for taking paid surveys. You can choose to redeem your points for PayPal cash or gift cards to popular retailers like Walmart and Amazon. U.S.-based users also have the option of receiving direct bank transfers.

All you need to do to get started on Survey Junkie is sign up and fill out your profile. Then the company will match you with surveys that you can accept or decline. You can also earn money on Survey Junkie by participating in focus groups or browsing the web.

Once you’ve reached 500 points (the equivalent of $5), you can cash out.

Content writing sites that pay daily, instantly, or every few days

Freelance writing is another work-from-home opportunity with constant demand for more writers. Many marketing agencies and content writing companies hire writers and editors to write blog posts, webpages, product descriptions, and other types of digital content. Often, writers are also required to optimize content for search engine optimization, or SEO, purposes.

Like transcription, most online writing sites pay on the lower end – that’s why many freelancers refer to them as “content mills”! However, it’s possible to make good money online as a freelance writer. The key is to stop writing for content mills and find your own clients.

The following writing sites pay daily, most of them via PayPal. Some of them also hire editors and proofreaders. (Click here for a big list of online proofreading and editing jobs.)

ClearVoice

Apply Here

As far as online writing jobs go, ClearVoice is one of the higher-quality gigs, with some writers on the platform earning $400-$500 per article. The ClearVoice platform connects top companies and brands with writers, editors, and social media managers. As a freelancer, you set up a profile on the site with your pay rate, areas of expertise, and writing samples. This is not a bidding site like Upwork – the ClearVoice staff send client leads to freelancers who are most qualified for an assignment, so you have a better shot at landing the assignments you apply for. ClearVoice takes 25 percent of freelancer earnings as a service fee. Payments are promptly via PayPal – according to the site, “funds are disbursed upon approval of an assignment within five days, but often process within 24 hours.” To apply, you’ll need a minimum of six writing samples.

TextBroker

Apply Here

TextBroker is a popular “content mill” site that hires U.S. citizens to write blog posts, product descriptions, and more. You can choose the jobs you want to work on. Depending on your skill level, pay ranges from 0.7 cents to 5.0 cents per word. You can increase your rating over time and earn more per word. Payouts are processed twice per week via PayPal. You can request a payout any time during the week as long as your balance is at least $10. To apply, you’ll need to submit a writing sample.

Crowd Content

Apply Here

This content writing company hires writers and editors from the U.S., UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, or any country where English is the native language. As a freelancer for Crowd Content, you’ll write or proofread a diverse range of content types across many industries, including articles, blog posts, e-books, social media posts, website content, press releases, white papers, newsletters, product descriptions, reviews, and more. They also have microtasks available. The company claims they have enough work so that their freelancers can work full-time or part-time. Crowd Content pays between 1.2 and 6.6 cents per word for writing, depending on your current quality rating. They pay Tuesdays and Fridays via PayPal in U.S. dollars, as long as you’ve reached the minimum payment threshold of $10. To apply as a writer, fill out the online application and complete the writing sample. (If you have editing experience, you can apply for an editing job with Crowd Content here.)

User testing companies that pay daily, instantly, or every few days

User testers assess websites and apps for user-friendliness while recording their feedback. Most user testing companies pay $10-$60 for each test, which typically takes 5-25 minutes to complete. If you do the math, this can be a decent-paying online gig.

The application process usually involves completing a sample website test. If you qualify, the company will then email you user testing assignments as they become available.

Here are some user testing jobs that pay daily, most of them with PayPal.

Userbrain

Apply Here

This usability testing company pays three dollars per test via PayPal. Tests are about 5 to 15 minutes long. Once you request a payout, it takes about two to five days for the money to appear in your PayPal account. To qualify as a tester, you must be able to accept PayPal payments.

UserTesting

Apply Here

UserTesting pays $10 for each 20-minute test and up to $120 for video conferences with customers. Payments are daily via PayPal for tests completed seven days earlier. You must live in a country that can receive PayPal payments to qualify as a test participant.

Validately

Apply Here

To qualify as a tester with Validately, you need a PayPal account. Most of their tests pay between $10-$70. Payments are processed via PayPal within seven business days of successful test completion.

Crowd work sites that pay daily, instantly, or every few days

Some companies divide big projects into many smaller tasks, called microtasks, and source them out to freelancers around the world to complete the work quickly and cheaply. This is known as crowdsourcing.

Most microtask sites don’t pay much more than beer money, but they’re one of the easiest online jobs to get started with. Additionally, many of them pay daily or every few days with PayPal.

The following crowdsourcing companies hire freelancers to work on microtasks like writing, transcription, translation, research, and data entry.

Amazon Mechanical Turk (MTurk)

Apply Here

MTurk hires workers around the world to complete microtasks. According to their website, tasks might include “identifying objects in a photo or video, performing data de-duplication, transcribing audio recordings, or researching data details.” You can choose whether to be paid via Amazon gift card or U.S. bank account transfer, and you have the option of being paid every three, seven, 14, or 30 days.

OneSpace

Apply Here

Formerly CrowdSource, OneSpace offers microtasks in the areas of transcription, writing, editing, surveys, data entry, research, etc. Payment is via PayPal, within 24 to 48 hours for most assignments. They hire worldwide. Check the above URL for current opportunities.
